Heating and cooling work across Worcestershire

Worcestershire has been part of our patch from the start. Malvern is about twenty miles from us and Worcester not much further, so this is normal working distance rather than a special trip.

The thing that shapes the work here is the size of the houses. Great Malvern and the roads running up the hills are full of large Victorian and Edwardian properties, and a big house with two bathrooms and a poorly insulated solid wall is not a combi boiler job. It usually wants a system boiler and a properly sized unvented cylinder, so the hot water does not run out when two people want a shower. Getting that sizing right matters far more than the badge on the front of the boiler, and it is where we spend the time.

Down in the Vale of Evesham and around Pershore there is more mixed property and a lot of outbuildings, workshops and garden rooms that started as storage and are now being used properly. Those are often heating or cooling jobs in their own right, and they are frequently easier and cheaper to solve than people expect.

Services

What we tend to be asked for in Worcestershire

Unvented cylinders and hot water

Sizing, fitting and servicing unvented systems for larger properties where a combi will not keep up.

System boiler replacement

Replacing tired system and conventional boilers in period houses, including reworking pipework that has been added to over the years.

Central heating upgrades

Radiator sizing, zoning and controls, plus power flushing where a system has silted up and the upstairs never gets hot.

Outbuildings and garden rooms

Heating or air conditioning for workshops, studios and converted outbuildings.

Cooling

Air conditioning in Worcestershire

Cooling suits the big south-facing bedrooms and top-floor rooms these older Malvern houses are full of, where the heat sits all evening and opening a window achieves very little. We fit wall-mounted split systems, and we are F-Gas registered to handle the refrigerant side properly.

Questions

Worcestershire questions we get asked

How far into Worcestershire do you come?

Malvern, Worcester, Upton and Pershore are all regular for us, and we go further on planned work. Give us your postcode on the phone and we will be straight with you about it.

My hot water runs out with two showers. What is the fix?

Usually it means the system is undersized rather than broken. On a larger house that normally points to a system boiler with a correctly sized unvented cylinder. We will work out what the property actually needs before quoting anything.

The upstairs radiators never get properly hot. Is that a new boiler?

Often not. It is frequently sludge and poor circulation rather than the boiler, and a power flush with the right inhibitor sorts it. We would check that before selling you a boiler you may not need.
